Raising a Prayer and Celebrating the Pope's Visit

Students, faculty and parents of St. Joseph Catholic School in Libertyville gathered to pray the Holy Rosary and run the Annual Spirit Run on September 25th. Father John Trout presided over the prayer service that culminated in the release of a biodegradable balloon rosary holding the prayer intentions of our school community. After the Holy Rosary Prayer Service, students participated in the Spirit Walk/Run in Sunrise Rotary Park. Middle school students walked with their kindergarten through second grade prayer partners as students in grades 3, 4 and 5 cheered them on. After they completed their run, children in grades 3, 4 and 5 took to the course as the school community encouraged them to the finish line. Over 500 people participated in this beautiful event celebrating our faith, school spirit and parish community.
