'Just Another Play' at Hinsdale Central

"Just Another High School Play" will take center stage this month at Hinsdale Central High School.

The freshman play, written by Bryan Starchman and presented by the school's drama department, focuses on a group of actors who apparently have been abandoned by their drama teacher and have to fend for themselves opening night in front of a live audience.

Their teacher has left them hanging because no one has been showing up to rehearsals and no one is really quite sure what they are supposed to do.

The student assistant director and the stage manager step in, find a box of scripts that they pass out to the cast, and try to throw something together. What follows is a rollicking show full of physical comedy, gags and satirical re-writings of many plays from Shakespeare to Albee.

Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, Oct. 8 and 10, and 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in the school auditorium at 55th and Grant streets. Tickets are available by calling (630) 570-8365 or at the door.

The cast features Emily Goggin, Anna Jasko, Tim Moser, James Lekas, Harry Priester, Mickey Horstman, Harini Loganathan, Emily Condon, Fiona Connelly, Hannah Kiperman, Allie Moreton, Jaclyn Wittrock, Jordan Cibinski, Kayla Hoffman, Jennifer Stavreva and Lana Millman.
