Autopsy: Long Grove man died of natural causes, not crash

A 56-year-old Long Grove man pronounced dead after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night died as result of natural causes, not injuries suffered in the collision, authorities said Thursday.

Yuri Cipurko, of the 2300 block of Checker Road, was pronounced dead at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital shortly after the crash, which occurred on Route 53 near Old Hick Road in Long Grove.

Lake County Sheriff's police said Cipurko was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Route 53 at about 7:30 p.m. when it crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Toyota suffered nonlife threatening injuries, sheriff's police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
