Special Olympics Illinois to host dance fundraiser

On Nov. 7, Special Olympics Illinois encourages you to grab your dancing shoes for the inaugural dance-a-thon fundraiser held at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights. Dance Unified runs from 5 to 10 p.m.

This new event brings together young people with and without an intellectual disability and aims to create awareness and support for Special Olympics Illinois and participating agencies/schools.

Dance Unified is open to students with and without an intellectual disability in junior high and high school and for young adults with an intellectual disability who like to dance and have fun.

The evening will include Just Dance, a chance to learn a new dance, a chill room, snacks and drinks and entertainment.

Registration is now open at www.SOdanceunified.com; register as an individual or a team. Funds raised benefit the nearly 22,000 Traditional Athletes with intellectual disabilities and nearly 22,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics Illinois.
