Mundelein targets tobacco sales to teens

The Mundelein Police Department has received a $3,500 state grant to establish an educational and enforcement program about underage smoking laws.

Through the grant from the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, the department's goal is to boost efforts to prevent kids from buying tobacco products, authorities said.

As pat of the project, retailers will receive kits that detail tobacco laws and training guides.
