Barrington Hills invites residents to discuss horse boarding

The Barrington Hills village board invites the public to a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, to get their opinion of the new horse-boarding rules, which allow one boarded horse per acre on properties smaller than 10 acres and two horses per acre for larger properties. The rules became effective in March after a supermajority of trustees overrode Village President Martin McLaughlin's veto on Feb. 23. By late Tuesday, around 16 pages of public comment on the subject had been submitted and can be viewed on the Barrington Hills village website. A copy of the lawsuit against the village concerning horse boarding is there as well. The meeting will be held at Countryside Elementary School, 205 W. County Line Road.
