Aurora man killed in morning shooting

Aurora police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting in which a 25-year-old Aurora man was killed, police said.

At about 7:12 a.m., police were called to a home on the 1300 block of Monomoy Street for a gunshot victim. Upon arriving, officers found the victim, Angel Reyna, had suffered a single gunshot wound. Reyna was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead at 7:56 a.m.

Reyna, who lived elsewhere, was at the home with another person at the time of the shooting and the weapon may have been accidentally discharged, police said.

An autopsy by the Kane County Coroner's Office is pending.

Police are interviewing several "persons of interest."
