Wheeling's Janulis scores 4 goals

It was all Nick Janulis on Thursday.

Wheeling's senior forward scored four times - twice in each half - to help the host Wildcats past Prospect 4-0 on Thursday in Mid-Suburban League boys soccer.

Dennis Gavrilla, Allen Mancilla, Brayan Cervantes and Josh Mariscal provided the assists for Janulis' hat trick-plus, and Wildcats keeper Juan Salgado made 4 saves in earning a shutout.

Wheeling improved its overall record to 9-3-1, and its MSL mark to 3-2-0.

Buffalo Grove 4, Rolling Meadows 0: Drew Brauner scored twice and Alex Alfaro had 1 goal and assisted one of Brauner's strikes to help keep the host Bison unbeaten in the Mid-Suburban League.

Alexis Alvares had the final goal for BG (5-3-1, 4-0), with an assist from Hector Herrera.

First-half keeper Daniel Sempoch and second-half keeper Brad Mayhorn both made 4 saves to share in the shutout.

Maine West 1, Northridge Prep 0: The Warriors picked up a nonconference win as Joey Pulvino provided the scoring with an unassisted goal.

St. Viator 2, Huntley 1: The Lions eked out a nonconference win in a game that took penalty kicks to decide.
