Girls volleyball: St. Edward, Geneva notch conference wins

Dominique Washington pounded down 14 kills and had 7 digs and Haley Biggins added 9 digs Tuesday night to lead St. Edward's girls volleyball team to a 25-15, 20-25, 25-22 Metro Suburban West win over Fenton.

Erin Kramer added 7 digs for the Green Wave (8-3, 3-1) and Gabriella Tripicchio had 20 assists.

Geneva d. Elgin: Ally Barrett had 10 kills, Sydney Schweibert 13 assists and Mikayla Lanasa 9 assists and 7 digs to lead Geneva (10-1) to a 25-15, 25-22 Upstate Eight River win. Karen Aguirre (7 digs) and Emily Huprich (6 digs, 3 assists, 2 aces) led Elgin (3-11, 0-1).

Burlington Central d. Rockford Christian: Summer Smith (8 kills), Lexi DeWaard (13 assists, 3 aces) and Lexi VanHiel (5 kills, 3 aces) led the Rockets to a 25-6, 25-11 Big Northern East win. Rachel Gaydos added 9 digs for BC (7-2, 3-0).

Harvest Christian d. IMSA: Amanda Cassidy had 13 kills and Mikayla Robinson added 11 to lead the Lions (6-3, 3-0) to a Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Katlyn Murry dished out 28 assists in the win and Candis Kaplan had 7 digs.

Crystal Lake South d. McHenry: Kendall Kilberger had 12 kills and 9 digs and Jordan Proszenyak added 6 kills, 13 digs and 2 aces as the Gators won in Fox Valley Conference Valley Division action 25-23, 25-21. Emily Slimko (21 assists, 4 blocks) and Aurora Nero (8 digs, 2 aces) also contributed to the victory.

Kaneland d. DeKalb: Hollie Fedderly (15 points) and Jessica Weber (11 points) led Kaneland (12-6, 1-0) to a 25-9, 25-18 NI Big XII East win.

Crystal Lake Central d. Hampshire: Maggie Seagren had 6 kills and 5 digs and Allie Peters added 7 digs for Hampshire in a 25-16, 25-18 Fox Valley Conference Fox Division loss.

West Aurora d. East Aurora: Jordyn Poppen (8 kills), Kelly Townsend (12 assists, 3 aces), Gillian Jones (3 aces, 4 kills, 4 digs), Loren Howry (6 digs) and Grace Vandorn (4 aces, 5 assists) led West to a 25-3, 25-5 Upstate Eight Valley win.
