FBI investigating Carpentersville bank robbery
FBI agents said Tuesday they are searching for two suspects in the robbery last week of a Carpentersville bank.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, two black men in their 20s entered the BMO Harris Bank, 94 Kennedy Drive, said Diane Carbonara, public affairs specialist for FBI Chicago. The men presented a note and showed a weapon, she said.
Carpentersville police Cmdr. Erman Blevins said the men were armed with a handgun. They got away with "some cash," he said, though he was unsure of the amount.
Blevins declined to comment on the investigation, directing all questions to the FBI, the lead agency investigating the robbery.
One suspect is about 5-feet-8 inches tall, while the other is about 6-feet tall, Carbonara said. Both have a thin build and were wearing hats, black shirts and sunglasses, according to Bandit Tracker Chicago.
