Kaneland 302 to discuss ACT results for Class of 2015

The ACT scores for the Kaneland High School Class of 2015 were recently released by ACT Corp. These scores represent the multiple attempts that students take at the exam, which include, but are not limited to, the test administered in school during March of their junior year.

Preliminary results for the Class of 2015 were shared with the board of education and the community in October of 2014. These results are one measurable aspect of the district mission to graduate students that are college, career, and community ready.

As reported nearly a year ago to the school board, this data has contributed to the focus of Kaneland High School on the following priorities:

• The development of curriculum and courses based on the Next Generation Science Standards; these standards have been adopted by the state of Illinois as the Illinois State Standards for Learning for Science;

• An internal focus on standards-based learning targets and supporting the achievement of those targets through the support of teaching and learning coaches and Response to Intervention;

• Students engaging and achieving in college credit bearing courses including Advanced Placement, dual credit, and articulated credit.

As the Class of 2016 begins their senior year at Kaneland High School, early indicators show that the focus on these priorities is working. The school and district administration look forward to sharing this data with the board and community in the coming weeks.
