Aug 29: The Algonquin Twilight Cruise In, 4-8 p.m., on Main Street Algonquin between Washington Street and Algonquin Road. Sponsored by the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce. Sept. 13: 29th annual British Car Festival, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. Participant registration, $20; $25 on day of show until 12:30 p.m. Prizes are awarded. Sponsored by the British Car Union. With more than 500 vehicles, this is one of the largest celebrations of British automotive design and engineering in the United States. In addition to the cars, the festival features a variety of classic car parts vendors, presentations, tech workshops, authentic British food and new car dealers showcasing the latest imports from Great Britain. Sept. 13: Sixth annual Bartlett Heritage Days Car Show sponsored by Bob's Auto Body and TL's Four Season. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. east of Oak Avenue on Bartlett Avenue in Bartlett. Sept 19: The automotive program at Technology Center of DuPage hosts its annual TCD Automotive Car Show at 301 S. Swift Road in Addison. 9:30 a.m. with awards at 11:30 a.m. Classes include Pre-1980, Post-1980, Best Student Vehicle, Best Alumni Vehicle and Best of Show. Registration is $5 for students, $10 for others. Proceeds support equipment for the auto tech program and scholarships for auto tech students. Sept. 24: A memorial evening remembering Michael Argetsinger, presented by CLASS and the Concours d'Elegance of Chicago. Argetsinger, an award-winning motor sports author and supporter of the concours, passed away in July. The memorial, open to everyone, will be at 6 p.m. at Cooper Technica, 401 N. May St., Chicago.
