District 214 kicks off a new school year

More than 12,000 students in Northwest Suburban High School District 214 went back to class on Wednesday for the first day of the 2015-2016 school year. Buffalo Grove High School celebrated with its annual first day assembly where students kicked off the year with help from the band, cheerleaders and the school mascot.

Another reason to celebrate was the return of popular Buffalo Grove science teacher Dave Fuglestad, who missed last year after being injured in a serious motorcycle crash.

Students at all six high schools and the alternative programs in the district also started the year with their own iPads as District 214 implemented a fully 1:1 tablet program starting this year.
