Cuba doesn't reflect true socialism

This is in response to letter of Aug. 22 from Mr. Bob Lowth of Arlington Heights entitled "Media lies about socialized medicine." For Mr. Lowth's edification, Cuba is not where true socialism exists. True socialism exists in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, all of which are socialist democracies, and (gasp) the United States.

Yes, the United States, with socialist programs such as subsidies to the oil, gas and agriculture industries (which the Republicans refuse to eliminate), public libraries, national parks, Social Security, and Medicare.

All the foregoing are socialist programs in the United States. Would Mr. Lowth abrogate his rights under Medicare? I sincerely doubt it.
