Officials: Plainfield man killed along I-290 near Hillside
A man found dead along I-290 near Hillside Wednesday has been identified as a Plainfield man, the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
LaShawn Williams, 22, was discovered around 3 p.m. on eastbound I-290 near Wolf Road, police said. Illinois State Police say Williams was likely was struck early this morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene just after 3:30 p.m.
The mainline ramp from St. Charles at Wolf Road on I-290 eastbound remained closed until about 6 p.m. Lanes from I-88 stayed open.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning. Police do not have any information about any potential vehicles involved.
