Have fun learning about mosquitoes

Learn about mosquitoes during "Mosquitoes: more than Meets the Compound Eye."

This fun nature program will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Binnie Forest Preserve.

Mosquitoes are undoubtedly our most unpopular native insects. They're swatted and smashed, sprayed and fumigated. But have you ever stopped to look at one up close?

This evening program of catching and observing these nocturnal insects will have you itching to know more about the important role they play in ecology. Magnifiers and bug boxes will be used to look at them and play a "mosquito game" as well.

Advance registration is required. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register. Registration is $2 per person.

Binnie Forest Preserve is at 38W040 Binnie Road, West Dundee.
