Arlington Hts. pumping station roof catches fire

Arlington Heights firefighters extinguished a small fire Friday at one of the village's pumping houses on the 3700 block North Kennicott.

The fire, which occurred about 11 a.m., damaged the roof but not the equipment, firefighters said.

Overheated material from a running generator likely caused the fire, officials said. Damage was estimated at $10,000. No one was injured.

Arlington Heights was assisted by the Buffalo Grove Fire Department.
