David Arquette to star as 'Sherlock Holmes' in Chicago

"Sherlock Holmes," a theatrical adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tales by playwright Greg Kramer, will play the Oriental Theatre in November, Broadway in Chicago announced Wednesday.

David Arquette ("Scream," "Friends") stars as the titular sleuth and Michael Trevino ("The Vampire Diaries," "The Originals") will play his faithful associate Dr. Watson.

Arquette said he relishes the opportunity to play the iconic role in director Andrew Shaver's remount of the play, which premiered in Montreal in 2013.

"Some may think I'm an odd choice," Arquette said in a prepared statement. "I am. I'm odd, but thankfully so is he."

The North American tour plays Nov. 24 to Nov. 29 at 24 W. Randolph St., Chicago. Group tickets are available at (312) 977-1710. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date. See broadwayinchicago.com or sherlockholesonstage.com.
