Speed sign rule doesn't make sense

Friendly street 25 mph signs: On July 29, I visited the Naperville municipal center in hopes of picking up three of these signs for neighbors who had asked me to pick them up. I was told that I could only request them for myself, that my neighbors would have to pick their own up.

I am retired and had offered to pick them up for the people who worked the same hours that the sign department is open.

I live in the Wil-0-Way section south of Jefferson and we are a pass-through area between Jefferson, Aurora and River roads. We do see police presence as they pass through but seldom do they ever set up in our neighborhood.

That's understandable and I have nothing but the highest respect for our police department. I just wanted signs for our neighborhood.

More rules and regulations, very little common sense.
