Centennial Beach Sunshine Sale and Back-to-School Beachside Yoga

Centennial Beach offers two ways to make the most of the warm days ahead in August. Beginning August 1 beachgoers can take advantage of the annual Centennial Beach Sunshine Sale that provides a 50% discount for Beach memberships. And new this year, the popular Beachside Yoga program has spun off a new class, Back-to-School Beachside Yoga, to give parents and anyone age 18 and over a chance to enjoy a peaceful yoga practice at Centennial Beach during the last two weeks in August.

"The Beach is a beautiful place to practice yoga," said Kate Reilly, who currently participates in the 2015 Beachside Yoga class. "Hearing the birds and the water provides a peaceful experience that you can't get elsewhere."

The new yoga class will meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10:00-11:00 on Aug. 17, 19, 24 and 26. Online registration is available at www.napervilleparks.org.

Starting August 1, the following discounted Centennial Beach memberships are available that reflect an average savings of 50% off the regular price:

• Youth or senior - $23/resident; $37/nonresident

• Adult - $29/resident; $44/nonresident

• Family - $92/resident ; $146/nonresident

• Twilight (ages 3 and up) - $20/resident; $33/nonresident

Patrons may purchase Beach passes at Centennial Beach at 500 W. Jackson Ave., at the Park District Administration Building at 320 W. Jackson Ave. or at the 95th St. Center at 2244 W. 95th St.

Centennial Beach memberships include a 10% discount at Centennial Grill (with presentation of membership card) and a members-only appreciation day on Friday, Aug. 21 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

August also brings a change in operating hours, due to shortened days and the departure of Beach staff who must return to college or high school. Please note the following schedule for the remainder of the 2015 Beach season:

• Now through August 16: Regular schedule

• August 17-21; 24-28; and Aug. 31-Sept. 4: Closed during weekdays except for Back-to-School Beachside Yoga and the Members-Only Appreciation Day

• August 22-23; Aug. 29-30; and Sept. 5-7: Weekend hours with Labor Day as final day of operations
