Stop Longmeadow, keep taxes low
I am tired of hearing all the politicians say that it is too late to stop the construction of the Longmeadow toll bridge. What I would like to hear is, where are the users of this bridge coming from?
The original traffic statistics were gathered prior to the 2008 recession. Since then, home construction has come to a grinding halt. When will the completion of all those projected homes be completed, if ever? How many existing homeowners in the corridor will willingly change their route and pay the toll? How many users will be required before the bridge is self-efficient. Where will funds come from to maintain this roadway?
Why can't the project just be stopped and the money used to prevent raising property taxes for a few years?
