Batavia

• A wallet was stolen sometime between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday from a worker on the 1800 block of Suncast Lane, according to a police report.

• James J. Szczepaniak, 50, of the 1400 block of Brorson Lane, Johnsburg, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more, improper lane use and no insurance after a traffic stop at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of North Kirk Road, according to a police report.

Geneva

• Someone shot a mailbox on the 2600 block of Cedar Avenue with a BB gun or air soft pellet gun between 3:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Sunday, causing $50 damage, according to a police report.

• Christine R. Kasper, 19, of the 500 block of Anderson Boulevard, Geneva, was arrested and charged with causing $250 damage to a laptop computer at 6:25 p.m. Sunday after authorities were called to the 500 block of Anderson, according to a police report.

Kane County

• A resident of the 100 block of Mapletree Lane near Carpentersville reported on Tuesday that two unauthorized charges for $386 were made July 17 at a liquor store in New York, according to a sheriff report.
