'Wizard of Oz' in Buffalo Grove park theater

The Buffalo Grove Park District theater company, Big Deal Productions, is presenting its summer musical, "The Wizard of Oz," from July 24 through Aug. 2 in the new Community Arts Center Auditorium, 225 McHenry Road.

"The staff at Big Deal Productions, and the cast and crew of Wizard of Oz are very excited to present another stellar show in our new home. We have enjoyed the many opportunities this new space provides," said Lindsay Grandt, recreation supervisor for the park district's performing arts department.

The show features a cast of more than 50 performers and a 150-member live orchestra.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. July 24, 25, 31 and Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. July 26, Aug. 1 and 2. Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 at the door; children 11 and under are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at bigdealproductions.org.
