We spent one hour — no more, no less — roaming around town photographing things that caught our eye. The obvious and the obscure, big stuff and small. But all identifiable to Glen Ellyn.
Downtown Glen Ellyn looks like a scene from a movie, with the setting Anytown, U.S.A.
There are the train tracks splitting downtown, with the local movie theater across the street from the train station and fine restaurants and shopping all around. Just east of downtown is Glenbard West High School, with its classic hilltop setting overlooking Lake Ellyn.
Between Lake Ellyn and Glenbard West is Duchon Field, one of the most beautiful settings for a football game on a Saturday afternoon in the state.
On the southern edge of Glen Ellyn is the most modern of the Glenbard schools, Glenbard South, as well as College of DuPage.
