Two motorcyclists injured in crash near Rosemont

Two people were injured after a motorcycle hit a passenger vehicle on I-294 near Rosemont Sunday, officials said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., a 48-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were riding a motorcycle northbound on I-294 when the motorcycle ran into the back of a Toyota passenger car, said Master Sgt. Mark Pilgrim of the Illinois State Police.

Both motorcyclists were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for non-life-threatening injuries, Pilgrim said. The driver of the car had no indication of injury.

The Schiller Park Fire Department responded to the accident, said Battalion Chief Anthony Hatcher, and the Franklin Park Fire Department assisted.

No traffic citations were issued Sunday, Pilgrim said. Illinois State Police are investigating the accident.
