Indiana man charged in shooting near Willowbrook
A South Bend, Indiana, man faces numerous charges related to a shooting Monday evening in an unincorporated area near Willowbrook, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office said Thursday morning.
Jeremy H. Harris, 19, has been charged with aggravated battery discharge of a firearm, attempted armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery - great bodily harm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and no FOID card. He is being held on $500,000 bond and his next court date is July 27.
Authorities said Harris attempted to rob the victim at gunpoint and a struggle ensued between Harris and the victim. During the struggle, the weapon discharged injuring the victim.
Harris fled and was apprehended a short time later.
