Arlington Heights sex offender gets jail time for not registering

A convicted sex offender from Arlington Heights pleaded guilty Tuesday to failing to register with local authorities.

Arturo Borg, 33, was sentenced to six months in Cook County jail and two years probation in exchange for his plea.

He was convicted of criminal sexual assault in 2002 and sentenced to four years in prison, prosecutors said at Borg's bail hearing in January. He was convicted twice in 2012 for failing to register as a sex offender, prosecutors say.

Borg's criminal record includes multiple convictions for battery, reckless driving, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as 11 misdemeanor convictions, prosecutors said.
