More charges against former St. Charles North employee accused of sex with student
New charges have been filed against a former St. Charles North High School dean's assistant who is accused of having sex with a student, according to court records.
Christopher A. Lee, 29, of Chicago has been indicted on charges he sent obscene pictures to the female victim using social media.
A Kane County grand jury added the two misdemeanor charges last week against Lee, who was arrested in May and is free on bond.
Lee faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of criminal sexual assault while being in a position of trust and authority over the victim, and also must register as a sex offender.
The new charges are misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in jail but any punishment for a felony conviction would take precedence over the new charge of distributing explicit material to minors.
Lee, previously of St. Charles, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student from January 2015 through early May.
According to court records and an affidavit used to secure permission to do a forensic search of his phone, Lee admitted sending photos via Snapchat to the girl.
The affidavit also stated Lee admitted to authorities having sex with the girl at his St. Charles apartment.
Lee's defense attorney, Michael Bercos, has declined to comment on the case.
Lee is next due in court Aug. 28.
