Police, FBI seek Arlington Heights bank robber

Arlington Heights and the FBI are seeking a man who robbed the Chase Bank at 43 E. Golf Road early Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the man entered the bank just before 1:30 p.m. Thursday, approached a teller window and handed over a note demanding cash. A weapon was implied, but not displayed, police said.

The teller immediately complied by providing an undetermined amount of cash, and the man left the bank, police said. Witnesses said he ran through the parking lot, crossing Golf Road into a shopping center.

The robber was described as a black man in his late 20s, with dark hair and standing between 6-foot and 6-foot-2, with a large build. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a dark, waist-length jacket with a horizontal red stripe across the chest and along the upper sleeves, and blue jeans.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crime is encouraged to contact Arlington Heights police, (847) 368-5300, or the FBI at (312) 421-6700. A witness may remain anonymous by calling Arlington Heights Crime Stoppers at (847) 590-STOP.
