North Barrington man charged with child porn possession

A North Barrington man faces three counts of child pornography possession after a yearlong investigation by Lake County authorities.

James M. Parsino, 50, of the 100 block of North Rainbow Road, was arrested Wednesday at his home and is being held in the Lake County jail pending a court appearance Thursday.

According to a news release, the cybercrimes units in the Lake County sheriff's office and the Lake County state's attorney's office have been investigating Parsino since mid-2014.

A forensic examination of Parsino's electronic media devices revealed an extensive number of pornographic images and videos of children younger than age 13, the news release said.

Police said additional forensic examinations of the electronic media will still be conducted, due to the high volume of child pornography in Parsino's possession. More charges could be filed.
