No injuries in Aurora fire

No injuries were reported in an Aurora fire the damaged a single-family home Wednesday evening.

Aurora Fire Department Battalion Chief John Gilbert said firefighters were called to a one-story house on the 1400 block of Reckinger around 7:30 p.m.

The fire started on a porch on the back of the home. Gilbert said it extended into the house but was contained to the kitchen area.

Two people who were in the home were able to safely evacuate.

All of the department's units responded to the scene, and the fire was under control in about 15 minutes.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
