Libertyville's Amidei named to lead management association

Deputy Village Administrator Kelly Amidei recently was elected president of the Illinois City/County Management Association.

The group was founded in 1953 to support and improve municipal and county management and strengthen local government in Illinois.

The association has more than 700 members, including city, village and county managers/administrators, students, consultants and other management positions. Most hold graduate degrees and are appointed to their positions by an elected governing body.

The association strives to maintain a balanced membership to create a positive environment for the exchange of ideas.

Amidei has worked for Libertyville since May 2003. She focuses on human resources, risk management/safety, technology/website and serves as the village's Freedom of Information Act and public information officer.

She previously worked for the villages of Lake Bluff and Deerfield. Amidei served on the ICMA conference committee in 2008 and 2012, and was the chair of the 2014 winter conference and 2015 summer conference committee.

She also is past president of the Illinois Association of Municipal Management Assistants and past chairwoman of the Intergovernmental Personnel Benefit Cooperative, a large intergovernmental health insurance pool in Illinois of which Libertyville is a member.

Kelly received her undergraduate degree in business from the University of Iowa and a masters of public administration from Northern Illinois University.
