Mundelein cops host fishing derby

The Mundelein Police Department's 18th annual Cops 'N' Bobbers fishing derby is Saturday, July 11, from 8 a.m. to noon at the St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, 1000 East Maple Ave., Mundelein. The event is open to children ages 5 to 13 years of age. The pond will be stocked with sun fish and bait will be provided by the Country Corner store. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will have a few fishing poles on hand for those who do not have a pole of their own. There will be a raffle drawing and prizes for the biggest fish, smallest fish and the most fish caught. The event is free, and the first 100 children will receive a free T-shirt. Ronald McDonald will be present. Food and nonalcoholic beverages are allowed in the seminary. An adult must accompany all participants.
