Obama supporters are now racist?

The president has faced opposition on many of the programs and laws he has proposed. From health care to immigration to foreign policy, there has been some robust opposition to the ideas put forth by the president.

The president's supporters, who have ardently backed him, have labeled the president's detractors as unpatriotic, racist and just downright mean-spirited. Nothing more than greedy corporations who only think of themselves and their almighty profits. Downright scoundrels out to poison the planet and harm the middle class and the poor.

But what about this trade deal with the Asian countries? The president, and rightly so, has tried to take the lead in trade legislation in order to create a greater trade dynamic in an area of the world where open markets can benefit all Americans, even corporations.

However, there is some very strong opposition to the president from his traditional base of supporters. Does this make them unpatriotic, racist and mean-spirited? Or are they just exercising their God-given right of freedom of speech under our Constitution?
