If Zell's involved, hold onto your wallets

I find it ironic that Sam Zell is spending millions of dollars to run TV ads promoting Gov. Rauner's plan for repairing Illinois' fiscal situation.

Wasn't it Zell's creative, convoluted, and legally questionable financing scheme that saddled the Chicago Tribune with so much debt that it had to spend four years in bankruptcy, emerging greatly devalued? Didn't thousands of workers lose their jobs under his tenure?

If Zell wants Rauner to do to Illinois what he, Zell, did to the Tribune, then we all better hold onto our wallets.
