Another natural gas line struck in Wheeling

For the second time in as many days, a Wheeling neighborhood was affected by a natural gas release Friday.

Nicor reported that a service line was hit during construction work on Sixth Street Friday, but Wheeling fire officials said their own response required only about 10 minutes.

On Thursday morning, about 10 homes on the immediately parallel Glendale Street were evacuated by a reported gas leak.

Both affected streets are northest of the intersection of Dundee and Wolf roads.
