Prospect Heights Block Party coming Saturday

The Prospect Heights Park District is holding its Block Party, featuring family music and entertainment, from 4 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Gary Morava Recreation Center, 110 W. Camp McDonald Road.

The festival kicks off with the Regional Teen Battle of the Bands at 5 p.m. And two bands will provide live music later in the evening, with the Brass Buckle Band performing at 7 p.m. and Exit 147 at 9 p.m.

Other events include:

• 4 p.m. All Pet Pageant

• 5 p.m. Prospect Heights Voice Singing Competition Finals

• 5 to 9 p.m. Children's Inflatables ($10 wristband or $2 each feature)

• 5 to 10 p.m. Food Vendors/Beer Tent

• 6 to 8 p.m. Lions Pool Free Swim

• 6 to 9 p.m. Creative Kids Preschool Silent Auction

• 8 p.m. Prospect Heights Lions Club Duck Race

Elm Street will be closed for the event from 10 a.m. Friday through noon Sunday.
