St. Patrick hires principal

Mary Vitulli has been hired as the new principal at St. Patrick School in Wadsworth, starting July 1, the Rev. Fred Pesek, pastor at St. Patrick parish, has announced. Vitulli will oversee 450 students, 28 teachers, teachers' aides, office and support staff, reading specialists, a social worker, a learning disabilities teacher, and a speech pathologist in the preschool through eighth grade elementary school. Vitulli, of Highland Park, brings more than 20 years of education experience, as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She has worked in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago, most currently serving at the principal at St. James School in Highwood. She earned her Master's degree in administration and leadership from the American College of Education, and her bachelor's degree from Colgate University.
