10 Rosemont businesses getting audited by village

An auditor is analyzing 10 businesses that pay taxes to Rosemont to make sure they're paying their full share.

The audit by Lauterbach & Amen, recently authorized by the village board in an amount not to exceed $6,500, will examine restaurants and venues chosen by village officials. If the audit finds the businesses are paying the appropriate amounts of amusement tax, parking tax and sales tax, subsequent audits won't be needed in later years, said Mayor Brad Stephens, but there's a "good chance" they would be done on an annual basis.
