Tin Caps' 4-2 comeback handcuffs Cougars

The Kane County Cougars fell in the rubber game as the Fort Wayne Tin Caps came back three times for a 4-2 win at Parkview Field Friday evening.

Fort Wayne (26-34) trailed until seventh inning when they scored 2 runs against Cougar reliever Steve Hathaway (0-2). After the left-hander struck out Trae Santos with runners at second and third, Franmil Reyes provided the game-winning hit with a two-run single up the middle.

The Cougars grabbed two leads early in the ballgame with a pair of sacrifice flies. In the first inning, Marty Herum's sacrifice fly put the Cougars ahead 1-0. After the Tin Caps responded with a sacrifice fly of their own, Victor Reyes allowed the Cougars to retake the lead with another fly ball that plated Ryan Gebhardt.

Wei-Chieh Huang picked up his second quality start of the season, but was not able to earn his fourth consecutive win. Two errors by the Cougars' defense allowed the Tin Caps to score again and tie the game 2-2. Huang finished the game with six innings of two-run baseball (one run earned).

Yimmi Brasoban (1-2) picked up the win and Brandon Fry grabbed his first save on four outs.

The Cougars (31-30) continue their road trip and begin a three-game series against the Lake county Captains on Saturday. Touki Toussaint (1-2, 4.00) will kick of the series against Lake County's Jordan Milbrath (2-6, 6.02). First pitch from Classic Park is scheduled for 6 p.m.
