Master historian, acclaimed New York Times best-selling author and twice-honored Pulitzer Prize winner David McCullough is coming to Naperville to discuss his new book, "The Wright Brothers."

McCullough's appearance, sponsored by Anderson's Bookshops, is at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at The Yellow Box Auditorium at Community Christian Church, 1635 Emerson Lane, Naperville.

Tickets are required and available with the purchase of the author's featured book at Anderson's in downtown Naperville. The cost is $38 per ticket. Guests will receive admission to the event and one autographed book. The books will be signed by the author in advance.

Tickets are available at Anderson's Bookshops in Naperville at 123 W. Jefferson Ave., or by calling the store at (630) 355-2665. Guests also may purchase tickets online at andersonsbookshop.com.

A question-and-answer session will follow McCullough's presentation.

McCullough received the Pulitzer Prize for his biographies of Harry S. Truman and John Adams. He has received two National Book Awards, one for "The Path Between the Seas" and the second for "Mornings on Horseback."

He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian award.

His latest work traces the lives of Wilbur and Orville Wright. Regarded by many in their time as mere "bicycle mechanics," the brothers were in reality self-taught geniuses of truly exceptional capacity of mind, pioneering scientific explorers, and extraordinary exemplars of the American character. They also were relentless, courageous, modest and honest in their pursuit of overcoming obstacles that had stopped attempts at heavier-than-air flight.

"The Wright Brothers" also illuminates the efforts of the Wright sister, Katharine, whose help was invaluable.

Exhaustively researched, "The Wright Brothers" shares the trials and triumphs of the Wrights on their way to glory and excitement.
