Chippewa Pool is Officially Open

After the past few days of chilly temperatures, the weather finally cooperated and Chippewa pool officially opened for the season. Des Plaines Park District season pool pass owners and area residents have been anticipating this day for a while and it did not disappoint. Kids and adults were splashing, jumping, and diving at the popular neighborhood pool.

Area schools are finishing up and soon Chippewa Pool and the other Des Plaines Park District pools will be busy with patrons the entire day. Many people are hoping for a hot summer, especially Des Plaines Park District Aquatics Supervisor, Matt Hartnett. "The Park District has some great swimming facilities and we love to see crowds of people out enjoying them," Hartnett explained. "The weather plays such a big role in attendance we are really hoping that this summer has consistent hot, dry days," he added.

Chippewa Pool will be open 4:00-7:00pm this week. Saturday begins regular season hours: noon-9:00pm weekdays, noon-6:00pm weekends. Mystic Waters Family Aquatics Center is scheduled to open this Saturday at 11:00am.
