Stevenson academic, athletic teams honored

Thirty-one students representing Stevenson's six academic and athletic state-championship teams were honored in Springfield on Wednesday. Students from the mathematics, Science Olympiad, boys gymnastics, girls water polo, boys basketball and football teams visited the state capitol, as did several coaches. State Rep. Carol Sente of Vernon Hills honored the championship teams with a resolution in the House, and Sen. Terry Link of Waukegan did the same in the Senate. Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger, a former Stevenson parent, also presented a proclamation honoring the championship teams.
