Barrington Hills appoints Paul as new clerk

Anna Paul, who was appointed Barrington Hills village clerk Wednesday night, said it will be hard to follow her predecessor and friend Dolores Trandel, who died in April.

Paul, who also serves as the village's director of communication, worked as deputy clerk under Trandel.

"It is really sad circumstances that I become clerk," Paul said. "She (Trandel) was my work mom. It is nice to be following in her footsteps, but I wish she was here."

Paul said Trandel was well-liked and respected by everyone in the village.

Village President Martin McLaughlin said he is glad Paul will continue to work as communications director in addition to her clerk duties because residents will benefit from her experience.
