Huang sharp in Cougars debut; team wins 3rd straight

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Kane County Cougars won their third straight, a 3-0 victory over the Quad Cities River Bandits at Modern Woodman Park on Tuesday.

The Cougars (23-23) received a solid start from Wei-Chieh Huang in his professional debut. Huang, who struck out eight, left one out shy of a quality start with runners at the corners, but reliever Nick Baker stranded both. Jency Solis picked up his first save of the season.

Cody Regis hs first home run of the season, a 2-run shot over the left field wall in the first inning. In the eighth, Stryker Trahan hit a solo shot for the second straight game.

The series continues today at 7 p.m. when the Cougars send Touki Toussaint (0-0, 0.90 ERA) against Austin Chrismon (4-1, 2.37).
