214@100: BGHS band is the soundtrack of the school

The Buffalo Grove High School band is a quintessential part of school spirit. Every year, there are new songs to keep students and staff entertained. In addition to concerts, the band holds special performances during home football games and assemblies and arrives early on Thursdays for send-offs for competing teams or clubs.

Every three years, the group takes its show to Europe, and has an Austrian exchange program that enables band members to perform for crowds in Vienna.

The band is the soundtrack of a Buffalo Grove High School student's experience. While the band members have their own unique memories, the memories of everyone else at BGHS would be incomplete without them.

• 214@100 is a celebration of District 214's centennial; 100 people, places, things and events that have shaped the school district's unique history.
