Cary-Grove beats Grant for regional crown
Cary-Grove 6, Grant 0: Genna Sobieszczyk scored twice and Mirana Malone and Morgan Olsen combined for 5 saves in goal as Cary-Grove (10-5-1) won its own Class 3A regional championship. Also scoring for the Trojans were Kelly Stayart, Carli Petersen and Frankie Frericks, who also had 3 assists. The Trojans will take on South Elgin at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals of the Huntley sectional.
