Keep the party outside

Keep the party outside! This is what I try to do in the summer. We have a great, flat and open backyard that has plenty of room to entertain and play outdoor summer games. When it starts to get dark, everyone comes inside. We lack lighting and seating in the backyard. We only have one light next to the patio door and usually have to light many candles to see.

We have a small outdoor fire pit but nowhere to sit around it. We usually drag many chairs outside so people have a place to sit.

We would love to be able to have our friends and family stay outside and enjoy the beautiful summer nights that we wait all winter for. Please help us to keep the parties and gatherings stay outside and not move inside.

Design suggestions by Littman Bros. Lighting

You have a great yard but it runs into the patio. By creating a low stone or paver wall this will define the patio space and create a base to build your lighting.

• Add post lights to the corners and entry areas of your patio. This will create functional light. Try 1437RB from Hinkley. It sits directly on the wall and creates almost a lantern feel. Candelabra bulbs can be changed out for LED fixtures.

• Put LED wall washers under the cap of your wall at installation. These can be retrofitted after the fact if you have an existing wall. 15745BBR

• Highlight your home and nice trees by adding spots to the corners of your home and trees/shrubs.

Post lights at corners and entry areas are functional and create an atmosphere.
