Streaking White Sox lose steam in loss to Indians

The White Sox had 18 wins heading into Tuesday night's game against the Indians at U.S. Cellular Field, and 12 of them were comebacks.

The Sox rallied from a 1-0 deficit in Monday night's series opener against Cleveland and won 2-1 in 10 innings, but they failed to find the rally gear again Tuesday and fell to the Indians 3-1.

The White Sox had won six in a row heading into the game.

Indians starter Trevor Bauer shut the Sox down over 7⅓ innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits.

"He's a good pitcher," Sox leadoff man Adam Eaton said. "I had a little stint with him in the minor leagues with Arizona and of course played with him in the big leagues. He's a competitor. He has a very strict plan that he sticks to. When he executes that plan he's tough to hit."

Avisail Garcia drove in the White Sox' lone run with an RBI single in the fourth inning.

Sox starter Jose Quintana (2-4) took the loss after allowing 2 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings.
