Softball: Fox Valley roundup Thursday, May 14

Burlington Central 15, North Boone 1: Courtni Neubauer threw a 5-inning no-hitter as the Rockets (14-12, 9-4) won easily in the Big Northern East. Kelly Wiater had a double and 2 RBI, while Kristina Ahlers, Bryn Lawler (2 hits) and Alyssa Mish each had 2 RBI. Neubayer struck out 7 and walked 1.

Dundee-Crown 8, Cary-Grove 5: Sydney Ruggles was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Megan Emersen was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI to lead the Chargers (12-9, 4-5) to a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Ruggles was also the winning pitcher. Caitlin Moran had 2 hits with a double and an RBI for Cary-Grove (7-15, 3-6) while losing pitcher Caitlyn Adams added 2 hits.

McHenry 11, Jacobs 1: Emily Borg and Kerri Healy had doubles for Jacobs (13-16, 4-5) in this FVC Valley loss. Alexis Addante was the losing pitcher.

St. Edward 14, IMSA 2: Ryann Scully was 4-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI as the Green Wave (20-7-1) notched their 20th win for the first time since 2005 in this nonconference win. Mallory Rejman (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI), Shannon McShane (2-for-3, 2 RBI), Rachel Lesh (2-for-3, 3B, RBI), Lindsay Zdroik (2-for-3, 2B, RBI), Megan Strong (2-for-3), winning pitcher Emily Stapay (2-for-3, 2B) and Allison Stratman (RBI) also contributed.

Huntley 3, Marengo 1: Megan Larson was 3-for-3 with a double, triple and home run as the Red Raiders (17-7) won in nonconference action. Haley Spannraft also homered for Huntley and Megan Baczewski had a double. Tiffany Giese allowed 5 hits to earn the win in the circle.

Geneva 10, Larkin 0: Haley Bohne and Beka Harrington had the only hits for Larkin (5-21, 4-13) in this Upstate Eight River loss. Emily Rojo was the losing pitcher.
